This is achieved by using high performance insulation systems and state of the art heating and cooling systems. Next we strive to use every available renewable resource to limit consumption of petroleum and grid produced electricity in our homes.

What is an Energy Audit? An energy audit is an assessment of a building or home to determine how energy efficient it is. This means finding where the air leaks in and out, how well it is insulated, how efficient the heating and cooling, equipment is, how efficient the various appliances are and how safe the indoor air quality is for the occupants. The information is compiled into a report where cost effective recommendations are made to help save energy and money.

What is a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR retrofit? Once the energy audit is complete and recommendations are made, trained Home Performance with ENERGY STAR technicians complete the recommended retrofit measures. This means sealing up the building enclosure to keep the heat in. Many old homes and lots of newer homes were not built with energy conservation in mind. This means many holes were left for air to freely travel in and out of the home taking with it precious money spent on heating fuels and electricity. We seal up those holes and make sure there is adequate insulation in walls attics and basements. If it is determined that a new heating system or other plumbing and heating work is needed, we oversee that work as well.
